OHFAR Mobile Dental Clinic for Syunik Supported by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region

In the mountains of southern Armenia, an innovative medical initiative is being launched: a mobile dental clinic, specially designed to serve isolated villages in the Syunik region, is providing free oral health care to the most vulnerable populations. This humanitarian project, called Adamnabus, led by OHFAR, is made possible thanks to the support of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and UMAF Auvergne Rhône-Alpes.

It is part of an exemplary humanitarian cooperation between France and Armenia, demonstrating the concrete impact of a committed partnership in favor of public health and international solidarity.

🤝 A Historic Cooperation Between Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Syunik

The Syunik dental mobile clinic Adamnabus is the result of a long-standing partnership between the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and the Syunik Prefecture. This active bilateral cooperation, in place for several years, focuses notably on projects related to health, education, and local development.

Within this dynamic, the Region has provided both financial and logistical support for this mobile health project, alongside UMAF (Union Médicale Arménienne de France). Together, they have enabled concrete, on-the-ground action, tailored to the public health realities of Syunik, and designed to reduce inequalities in access to care.

This medical vehicle, a real dental clinic on wheels, is equipped with a dental chair, sterilization systems, diagnostic tools, and a prevention area. It allows children to be treated directly on-site in areas where access to care is difficult. But the project goes beyond treatment: the teams also carry out prevention campaigns, oral hygiene education, and long-term awareness for local populations.

🗺️ A Coordinated Operation With Syunik Authorities

The success of the Syunik dental mobile clinic Adamnabus relies on smooth coordination between French and Armenian partners. The Syunik Prefecture, fully involved, facilitates the deployment of the vehicle in target areas by identifying the most remote and vulnerable localities. This administrative and logistical cooperation ensures a strategic and efficient intervention, rooted in the region’s actual needs.

🌱 A Sustainable Approach to Public Health in Armenia

This project is not a one-time effort. It is part of a long-term strategy aimed at building a sustainable oral health prevention policy in Armenia. The goal is to lay the foundation for a model that can be replicated in other regions of the country. Thanks to the support of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, OHFAR and its partners are developing a localized, future-oriented approach to health care.

❤️ An Initiative Driven by Strong Human Values

The Syunik dental mobile clinic Adamnabus is much more than a technical project. It represents a chain of solidarity between France and Armenia, founded on shared values: commitment, respect, dignity, equity, and health for all. Through this initiative, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region confirms its role as a pilot region for decentralized cooperation, capable of exporting its humanitarian expertise where the needs are greatest.
