Together for Healthier Smiles: OHFAR’s First Annual Conference and Gala
Improving children’s oral health requires more than treating a tooth. It requires prevention, education, accessible services, reliable information, and a community willing to support lasting change. These priorities brought OHFAR’s community together for its first annual conference and gala, creating an opportunity to reflect on progress and strengthen a shared commitment to children in Armenia.
Held on September 18, 2026, at AGBU in Yerevan, the first OHFAR Annual Conference brought together healthcare professionals, institutional representatives, partners, and supporters. The program connected discussions about public health and dental education with practical experience from schools in Syunik, alongside presentations on digital dentistry and innovation.
The gala dinner continued that spirit of collaboration, offering a moment to recognize the people and partnerships behind OHFAR’s work and invite broader support for its mission.
A Shared Commitment to Children’s Oral Health in Armenia
The conference opened with remarks and keynote addresses from the Ministry of Health of Armenia, the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Yerevan State Medical University, and the Embassy of France in Armenia.
Their participation brought institutional, academic, and international perspectives into a common conversation about oral health. For OHFAR, bringing these perspectives together is an essential part of building a sustainable approach: one that connects care delivered in communities with professional education, partnerships, and public health priorities.
A presentation on OHFAR’s first year of impact in Armenia offered an opportunity to review the foundation’s work, followed by an introduction to its Advisory Board. Together, these sessions placed the organization’s activities within a broader vision of accessible care and continued improvement.
Adamnabus in Syunik: From Identifying Needs to Providing Care
At the center of the conference were the experiences of children receiving care through Adamnabus, OHFAR’s mobile dental clinic. The program brings free dental care and oral health education directly to school communities in Syunik, helping address needs closer to where children live and learn.
Dedicated sessions presented results and clinical cases from Akner Village School, where OHFAR completed a six-month program before moving to Karashen School.
The initial assessment in Akner revealed substantial treatment needs: 89.7% of assessed patients had at least one cavity, with approximately three untreated decayed teeth per patient on average. The treatment plans included 311 procedures, illustrating the scale of care required within a single school community.
The program reported approximately AMD 7 million in direct dental care costs saved for the community. Alongside this financial contribution, parent feedback offered insight into children’s experiences and the educational value of the initiative. Among surveyed parents, 90.9% reported that their children had learned substantially about oral hygiene, while 77.2% reported a change in oral hygiene habits following the program.
These findings are encouraging, while also providing a foundation for continued monitoring. They show the value of combining treatment with education and listening to families as services develop.
Adamnasoft: Supporting Dental Care Through Digital Health
The conference also introduced Adamnasoft under the session “The Electronic Dental Record for Armenia.”
As OHFAR’s work expands across school communities, organized patient information becomes increasingly important. Dental assessments, treatment plans, and records of care need to remain accessible so that teams can follow each child’s treatment over time.
Adamnasoft supports this process by bringing dental information into a digital record. Within Adamnabus, it connects the practical delivery of care with the documentation needed to support continuity and review the program’s work.
The presentation reflected OHFAR’s approach to healthcare innovation: developing tools around the needs of professionals and the people they serve. Technology has the greatest value when it helps teams work more effectively and supports informed decisions about care.

Community Work and Innovation
The afternoon program broadened the discussion through presentations on JPITOR and community work, as well as telemedicine for oral health.
These sessions created space to consider how community engagement and new approaches to service delivery can complement existing dental care. They also highlighted the importance of exchanging experience across disciplines as OHFAR develops its activities.
The conference’s value extended beyond individual presentations. It offered a setting for questions, professional connections, and conversations about how different organizations and specialists can contribute to a shared goal.
An Evening of Connection: The OHFAR Gala Dinner
The gala dinner brought OHFAR’s mission into a more personal setting, gathering partners, donors, board members, and friends around a shared commitment to healthier smiles.
The evening included an Adamnabus presentation, connecting support for the foundation with its work in school communities. Speeches included contributions from Hayk Manasyan representing Rotary and Lazar Yesayan, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at YSMU.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to thank OHFAR’s board members for their guidance, time, and dedication. Their contribution, alongside that of the clinical team, partners, and supporters, helps sustain the work taking place beyond the event itself.
We are grateful to everyone who joined the conference and gala, contributed their expertise, and helped share OHFAR’s mission.
Support OHFAR Through reArmenia
The work continues beyond the conference hall and gala dinner. Following the completion of the Akner program, Adamnabus moved to Karashen School, continuing its provision of dental care and oral health education in Syunik.
OHFAR’s fundraising campaign is available on reArmenia, offering another way to support this mission. Contributions help provide dental screening, preventive care, education, and treatment for children in Armenia, supporting the foundation’s efforts to reach more schools and communities.
The conference and gala demonstrated the strength of a community united around children’s health. Turning that commitment into continued care depends on the participation of many people: professionals sharing their knowledge, partners contributing resources, and donors choosing to support accessible dental services.
Support OHFAR on reArmenia and help us care for more little smiles.
